our lead skipper
Anthony has been fishing since the age of 2, now aged 37, he’s gained a wealth of experience and knowledge of UK waters, though he has fished and dived all over the world.
As a child and teen, Anthony was a very keen dinghy angler spending as much of his free time on the water as he could. Whilst at university studying marine biology he started his charter career out of Newquay. He then returned home, to Rye, continuing to run his charter boat whilst commercial fishing.
Ultimately the draw of the Cornish waters called Anthony back West, settling in the beautiful town of Mevagissey. With this move back to Cornwall, Anthony became the first fisherman to legally catch a bluefin tuna (BFT) in UK waters, cementing his place within the BFT fishery. He has since completed 4 years of the catch and release programme, 3 of those years tagging tuna for scientific research.
Beyond fishing and charter work Anthony volunteered for the Dungeness and Newquay life boat crews, retiring after 18 years of service in the RNLI.
